Katrin Zagrosek is a cultural manager with wide interests. After studying musicology and cultural studies, she worked freelance at several of the best-known international cultural institutions and festivals, including the Musik-Biennale Berlin (now Märzmusik), the Berlin Festival, the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, the Salzburg Easter Festival, the Paris Théâtre et Musique and the Lincoln Center Festival in New York.
Between 2002 and 2006, as music dramaturge and adviser to General Music Director Karen Kamensek at Theater Freiburg, she devised concert series for the Philharmonic Orchestra and developed new music-pedagogical formats for children and young people. As Project Director of the “Hamburger Ostertöne” festival, Katrin Zagrosek went on to shape (2006–2012) the programming and development of this festival, directed by Simone Young. From 2008 to 2011 she was Production Director of “Wien Modern”, Austria’s largest festival for contemporary music. In 2012 Katrin Zagrosek became General Manager of the Niedersächsische Musiktage, and since September 2018 she has been General Manager of the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart.
